Keeping Live Music Alive in Regional WA

Live music is vital to Australia’s cultural identity, particularly in regional communities

where festivals provide essential platforms for original Australian artists. The Boyup

Brook Country Music Muster (BBCMM) is one such platform—an established,

community-driven event that has supported live music in regional Western Australia

for almost four decades.

Delivered in a rural town of just 1,800 people, the Muster will return from 13–15

February 2026, presenting three days of predominantly original contemporary

Australian music across multiple venues, including the accessible Boyup Brook

Music Park. The program will feature many performers, including national act

Andrew Swift and Ella Hooper, alongside a diverse lineup of Western Australian

artists.

Rising costs for essential services such as professional sound and lighting, security,

and equipment hire continue to challenge the sustainability of regional festivals. In

2026, the Boyup Brook Country Music Muster is proudly supported by the Australian

Government through Revive Live – an Australian Government initiative, enabling the

delivery of professional production, essential infrastructure, and safe, inclusive live

music experiences.

This investment strengthens the Muster’s resilience, supports regional arts workers,

and ensures the continued presentation of original Australian live music—keeping

live music alive where it matters most.
