BOYUP BROOK, WESTERN AUSTRALIA – Nominations are open for the 2022 West Australian Country Music Awards presented by LiveLighter, which each year recognise outstanding achievements in music.
Held annually in conjunction with the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival presented by LiveLighter, the awards provide emerging and established talent with industry recognition and popular acclaim.
A total of 10 categories offers the chance for nominees to earn a place at the pinnacle of country music in WA, with honours for musical group, male artist and female artist of the year.
Other titles up for grabs are best independent single, EP, album, music video clip, open song writer, emerging artist and junior vocalist.
Festival Music Director Sharon Winter called on the community to help shine a bright light on the cream of country music in WA.
“We are excited the awards are making a return in 2022. To carry on our proud tradition of celebrating the very best on the WA country music scene, we invite fans to show their appreciation for their favourite artists, albums and music videos by putting them up for consideration for an award,” Mrs Winter said.
“Artists can also put themselves in the running by self-nominating.”
Judging is carried out by experienced country music professionals from Australia and overseas, with the public getting the chance to vote for people’s choice.
Due to cancelations caused by the COVID-19, 2021 nominees will be carried over to 2022. Those wanting to submit new material, must submit a new nomination form.
Nominations close 5pm, Wednesday September 1, 2021.
Award winners will be announced at a presentation during the 2022 Boyup Brook Country Music Festival presented by LiveLighter, taking place from February 18 to 20.
